Georgia football coach Mark Richt gets a new five year contract

Duri News - News sources Rivals.com, Associated Press and Yahoo Sports. Athens Georgia. University of Georgia (UGA) football coach Mark Richt has agreed to a new five year contract that will keep him at UGA for five more years through the 2016 college football season.

UGA athletic director Greg McCarthy said the final details of the contract are being reviewed by their lawyers.


Richt has coached at UGA for 11 years. His annual salary is $2.81 million dollars. McCarthy said the details on the contract will be made public when the document is ready.

Richt said he hopes he can end his coaching career at Georgia. In the 2011 college football season the Bulldogs went 10-4 and represented the Southeastern Conference (SEC) East division championship game that they lost to Louisiana State University (LSU).
