Duri News - No sweet, genteel Givenchy here, ladies and gents – think of a slightly street-wise, toughened up offering from the Parisian couture house for Fall 2012 at Paris Fashion Week with a slightly gothic side to get you through the winter months…
Black lipsticked and smoky-eyed models walked the runway at the at Lycee Carnot, donning daring barely-there slips with spaghetti straps in silk, chiffon and lace, with a trimming of black lace, accessorized by black gloves, knee-high boots and gothic style chokers. And if that wasn’t Halloween enough for you, there is even one slip dress in orange and black!
If you want to be a little more covered up, since it is fall and winter after all, Givenchy offers slightly witchy looking ensembles with capes, black gloves, broad belts and boots, like the gold star embellished cape ensemble paired with an antique gold colored top. Where is the cat?
A similar outfit with a pleated red skirt and slip top is offered, accessorized with red gloves, a thick black belt and knee-high riding boots.
Breaking away from all that black (and orange – together!) is a mossy bronze outfit with olive drab satin pants, topped with a mossy olive and navy blue slip top, accessorized with a silken olive scarf, full-length bronze gloves and those sexy boots, this time over the knee! And don’t forget the deep, dark lipstick – how about a really luscious plum if black won’t do it?
Not surprisingly, Givenchy offers quite a bit of leather as well, aside from the leather gloves and riding boots – we’re talking leather pants and cape like jackets that look like a one-piece boilersuit from Blade Runner with Rutger Hauer, when worn together.
Attending the show were Leigh Lezark, Amanda Lear, Kanye West (who looked like he might be wearing Givenchy himself!), Vogue Editor-at-Large Anna Dello Russo, Alicia Keys, fashionista Giovanna Battaglia, Franca Sozzani, Sean Combs, Carine Roitfeld and model Natalia Vodianova.
